Peluk Aku

Waduh masih seminggu lagi gajiannya. Bulan ini pengeluaran tak terdugaku bukan main banyaknya. Ada saja biaya tambahan yang harus dikeluarkan. Ibu yang sakit, saudara yang butuh bantuan, dan masih banyak lagi. Uang hanya tinggal Rp. 50.000,- lagi, padahal 7 hari lagi baru terima gaji. Kepalaku pusing tujuh keliling. Bagaimana mengelola kebutuhanku selama seminggu ini, terutama untuk makan dan transport. Aku memeriksa persediaan makanan di dapur. Dan yang kutemui hanya beras yang kurasa cukup untuk seminggu. Hatiku sedikit lega. Lauk pauk, tak usah terlalu repot. Aku bisa makan dengan garam, kecap atau bawang goreng atau sambal. Sayuran ada disekitar halaman rumahku, ada kemangi, ada daun kencur, ada kangkung darat, ada cabai, ada tomat. Lumayan pikirku.

Aku bergegas menuju mobil tuaku, untuk segera berangkat ke kantor. Kulihat bensin, ternyata masih penuh, dan membuat aku jadi semakin lega. Paling tidak aku bisa bertahan beberapa hari, itu kalau hanya perjalanan dari rumah ke kantor. Dalam mobil aku berdoa, memohon agar Tuhan memimpin hariku dan menjaga aku agar tidak berbuat dosa, dan yang paling penting, peka terhadap kehendak-Nya.

Keteguhan Hati

Aku adalah seorang siswi di sekolah swasta di Jakarta. Orang tuaku berkerja sebagai penjual gorengan. Sehari-hari setiap sore sampai malam mereka berjualan di warung pinggir jalan. Terkadang, Aku ingin sekali membantu berjualan sampai selesai. Tapi Ayah melarangku. Ia ingin aku belajar saja di Rumah agar kelak menjadi orang sukses dan tidak berjualan seperti mereka. Maka dengan berat hati kuturuti saja kemauan Ayah.

Kalau musim penghujan tiba, aku benar-benar tidak tega. Bagaimana tidak, mereka tetap berjualan di tengah-tengah hujan deras dan dinginnya malam. Demi sesuap nasi, mereka rela menembus sepi dan dinginnya malam untuk berjualan.

Sebenarnya, kehidupan kami dulu sangat bahagia. Ayah berkerja di sebuah perusahaan yang gajinya cukup besar. Semua kebutuhanku terpenuhi. Apalagi, aku hanya anak tunggal. Tomi adalah seorang pegawai kantoran yang sedang bernasib apes. Kantornya yang hampir bangkrut melakukan rasionalisasi pegawai. Ia ikut terkena pemutusan hubungan kerja. Padahal, ia merasa di perusahaan itu sudah sangat nyaman. Apa daya. Ia harus jadi pengangguran lagi. Ia pun tak tahu harus ke mana mencari pekerjaan. Sebab, ia hanya lulusan SMA. Yang sarjana saja susah cari pekerjaan, apalagi dirinya yang hanya sekolah SMA, begitu pikirnya.

Di rumah, ia harus menanggung hidup dua anak dan seorang istri. Meski istrinya berjualan sayuran untuk membantu menambah penghasilan, jumlahnya tak cukup. Anaknya sudah sekolah SD. Mereka butuh makan dan butuh biaya sekolah yang tak sedikit. Tomi pun kebingungan. Sebab, pesangon yang diberikan perusahaan jumlahnya hanya cukup untuk hidup tiga bulan.
